Shopify Store Scraper & Competitor Price Tracker

If your competitors sell on Shopify, their catalog is more public than they might think. This Shopify store scraper reads it every day and tells you what changed: new products, dropped products, price moves, sales and restocks.

What it does

Add the Shopify stores you want to watch. On each run the tool reads the store's public product feed, compares it with the previous run and reports the differences:

  • New products that were not in the catalog before.
  • Removed products. Each one is double-checked on its own product page before it is reported, because feeds can shift while they are being read.
  • Price changes per product, with every changed variant, the old and new price and the change in percent.
  • Sales starting, ending or changing, based on the compare-at price.
  • Sold out and back in stock, per variant and per product.
  • Variants added or removed, such as new sizes or dropped colours.

You can also export a store's full catalog in one go, with every product and variant. To watch just part of a store, paste a collection URL, for example the sale collection, and “removed” then means a product left that collection.

The tool reads the same public feed many Shopify apps use, at a polite pace. Some headless stores hide the usual feed; the tool then tries the store's permanent myshopify.com address, which often still serves it. If a store blocks cloud servers, it retries through a residential proxy automatically.

Who uses it

  • E-commerce brands who need a competitor price tracker for prices and promotions, without checking competitors' sites by hand.
  • Pricing and merchandising teams who want to react when a competitor starts a sale or restocks a bestseller.
  • Agencies and consultants monitoring a category for their clients.
  • Market researchers and investors following product launches and catalog changes at direct-to-consumer brands.

How it works

  1. Add competitor store URLs, or collection URLs if you only care about part of a store. Optionally filter by product title, vendor, type or tag.
  2. Run it once to save each catalog as a starting point, or run it in full-catalog mode for a one-off export.
  3. Schedule it daily and get only the changes, by email, in Slack or Google Sheets, through a webhook, or as JSON, CSV or Excel.

Example output

Example output: a price change and a restock from a sample run, shortened. Field names match the tool's output; the stores and values will be your own.

Pricing

Pay per use on Apify. No subscription from us.

  • $0.003 per run
  • $0.004 per store (catalog read and compared)
  • $0.50 per 1,000 change rows (or product rows in a full export)

Summary and error rows are free, and stores that can't be read are not charged. Checking 20 competitor stores daily with about five changes each costs $0.003 + 20 × $0.004 + 100 × $0.0005, about $0.13 a day. A one-off export of a store with 1,000 products costs about $0.51.

Limits

  • Not every Shopify store can be read. About 30% of stores hide their product catalog, and those cannot be monitored this way.
  • Stock is in or out only. Shopify's public feed shows whether a variant is available, not how many units are left.
  • Prices are in the store's base currency, as published. Market-specific prices and discounts applied at checkout are not visible.
  • Very large catalogs, above Shopify's feed limit of 25,000 products, are read only in part, and removed-product detection is switched off for them.

FAQ

How do I know if a store runs on Shopify?

Just add it. If the store is not on Shopify or hides its catalog, the run reports that it could not be read, and you are not charged for it.

Will the store owner notice?

The tool reads the same public product feed many Shopify apps use, at a polite pace of about one request every half second per store.

Can I track only some products?

Yes. Use a collection URL, or filter by product title, vendor, product type or tag.

Do I need a proxy?

Usually not, because the feed is public. If a store blocks cloud servers, the tool falls back to a residential proxy on its own.

Can I get a full product export instead of changes?

Yes. Full-catalog mode returns every product and variant, billed per product row.
